Membership Fee Schedule

All memberships begin the month the application is processed and are for a one-year period. The membership year starts once we receive the completed membership application form and payment. Payments processed before the 15th of a month expire one year later, on the last day of the previous month (e.g., applications received between May 1st to 15th expire on 30th April of the following year). General Member’s Personal Professional Liability Insurance is effective the same date and period as your membership. Members are sent a Membership Renewal form one month before the expiry of their membership year but may also renew in advance of their membership expiry date.

Payments for annual membership dues can be made through any one of the following four payment options:

  • Full payment by Internet or telephone banking. You can make payment using your bank’s facilities. This arrangement is in place with Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of Montreal, CIBC, TD Canada Trust, all Credit Unions, and Scotiabank. Enter your BCPhA membership number in the account field once you find BCPhA or British Columbia Pharmacy Association in the Vendor list.

BCPhA Membership Refund Policy

General Membership

  • When a pharmacist chooses to terminate their membership, no refund of the prepaid dues will be provided.
  • All member benefits, including personal professional liability insurance, cease on termination. The amount retained is an administrative charge, not membership fee.
  • When an individual general member is a manager of a corporate membership, a prorated refund is provided for the overlapping period of the two memberships. At the request of the corporate member and with the discretion of the CEO, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

All Other Membership Categories

  • When a member wishes to terminate membership, no refund of the prepaid dues will be provided. At the request of the member and with the discretion of the CEO, exceptions can be made on a case-by-case basis.

CEO Discretion

  • If the CEO determines that a refund should be made, the amount of the refund will be dependent upon the length of time remaining in the membership. If there is more than six months remaining, the amount refunded will be equal to six months of that membership. If there is less than six months remaining in the membership, nothing will be refunded. All member benefits, including personal professional liability insurance, cease on termination. The amount retained is an administrative charge, not membership fee.
