Once the problem is identified and a lawyer is recommended to deal with the matter, the fees to be charged are strictly between the lawyer and the client. The LRS lawyer is not obliged to accept a member’s case, and the member is under no obligation to hire the LRS lawyer (or any lawyer recommended by the LRS lawyer).
The LRS program is not designed to:- provide free legal advice, or a “second opinion” to advice already received from another lawyer;
- provide for a review of documents and advice on such documents prior to a member signing them.
If you already know that you have a legal problem, the LRS can assist you by providing you with a lawyer’s name and telephone number for your legal problem, to be dealt with at that lawyer’s regular rate. If the LRS lawyer does not know of a lawyer in your area who could help, as part of the free consultation, the LRS lawyer can give advice as to how to choose a lawyer in your area for the problem at hand.
