Our Purpose

The BC Pharmacy Association exists to support, advance, and advocate for community pharmacists and pharmacy owners in British Columbia, strengthening their professional impact and supporting their growth within the health-care system.

Our Mission

We champion community pharmacists as vital partners in health care by advocating for the profession, providing professional development, delivering essential practice resources, and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders to advance excellence in pharmacy care.

Domains of Focus (SNAP)

Our 2026–2028 Strategic Plan is guided by four core domains of focus, collectively known as SNAP. All initiatives within the Strategic Plan align with one or more of these domains.

Support sustainability of pharmacy practice

We work to strengthen the economic and operational sustainability of community pharmacy, enabling pharmacists and pharmacy owners to deliver high quality care in a rewarding and efficient practice environment.

Nurture key relationships

We cultivate trusted, collaborative relationships with government, First Nations partners, regulators, health care organizations, third party payors, members, and other stakeholders to help the profession thrive.

Advance the profile and reputation of pharmacists

We elevate recognition of community pharmacists as essential, trusted health care partners and indispensable contributors to the health care system.

Provide information and education resources

We equip members with timely, reliable information, education, and practical tools that support confident decision making and excellence in practice.

Supporting Sustainability of Pharmacy Practice

Goal: Community pharmacy is economically sustainable and efficient.
• Address barriers to sustainable pharmacy practice.
• Establish and maintain effective ways to negotiate fair compensation for pharmacy.

Nurturing Key Relationships

Goal: The BC Pharmacy Association is a trusted, valued partner.
• Build and enhance strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.
• Position BCPhA as a resource on priority primary care issues.

Advancing the Profile and Value of the Pharmacist

Goal: Pharmacists are recognized as essential health-care partners.
• Increase public and stakeholder awareness of pharmacists’ contributions.
• Support full-scope practice and interprofessional collaboration.

Providing Information and Education Resources

Goal: BCPhA is a trusted source of timely practice education.
• Deliver practical tools, education, and peer learning opportunities.
• Promote innovation and best practices in community pharmacy.

Together, these goals and objectives guide the work of the BC Pharmacy Association over the 2026–2028 period, ensuring our advocacy, education, and member services remain aligned with the evolving needs of community pharmacy in British Columbia.
