Around 15% of Canadians have experienced symptoms of atopic dermatitis over the past year. To familiarize pharmacists with supportive treatments and patient education about daily skincare for atopic dermatitis, the BC Pharmacy Association will be hosting a live webinar on atopic dermatitis.
Join our guest speaker, Dr. Monica Li, a double board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist in both Canada and the United States, and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology & Skin Science at the University of British Columbia, as she discusses atopic dermatitis, from screening to comparison of treatment options to take home messaging for patients.
Learning objectives
At the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the current Canadian treatment algorithm for atopic dermatitis.
- Recognize common presentation of atopic dermatitis according to age
- Compare topical treatments for atopic dermatitis.
- Appreciate changes in dermatology practice with increased use of virtual care.
- Familiarize with supportive treatments for atopic dermatitis.
- Provide patient/parent education about daily skin care for atopic dermatitis.
About the Speaker: Dr. Monica Li
Dr. Monica Li is a double board-certified medical and cosmetic dermatologist in both Canada and the United States, and a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dermatology & Skin Science at the University of British Columbia. She practices in Vancouver and Surrey. B.C. Dr. Li is fellowship-trained in laser and cosmetic dermatology and has a special practice and research interest in ethnic skin, acne, rosacea, injectables and laser medicine. Dr. Li is an active committee member of the Canadian Dermatology Association, American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and Women’s Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Li has published more 17 peer-reviewed articles and has been an invited speaker at various international conferences including the World Congress of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery annual meeting and American Academy of Dermatology annual meeting. She is a regular voice to the press, and has been featured in Elle Canada, Chatelaine magazine, The Kit/Toronto Star, Huff Post, Global News, Yahoo Canada, CBC Life and Flare.
