When:
June 22, 2023 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Where:
Zoom – Digital Delivery, Vancouver BC

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a chronic lung disease, poses significant challenges for patients in Canada, impacting their breathing capacity and reducing their overall quality of life. We will be hosting a webinar with Sonia Bola, a certified respiratory educator on "Choosing the Right Inhaler for your COPD patients." By participating in the webinar, pharmacists will enhance their knowledge on COPD management, enabling them to assess patients' burden of disease, develop personalized action plans, demonstrate proper device usage for management techniques, and stay updated on the process of accessing Special Authority treatment options.

Learning Objectives

After attending the webinar, pharmacists will be better able to:

  • Assess patient burden of disease through medication history and with the COPD Assessment Test (CAT) score
  • Discuss the development of a COPD action plan with patients.
  • Gain proficiency in various management techniques by demonstrating proper device usage
  • Understand the new process of accessing Special Authority treatment options
