Influenza

Influenza the unfolding story (Part 2): New Challenges and New Opportunities

When:
September 28, 2021 6:00 am – 7:00 pm
Where:
Zoom – Digital Delivery, Vancouver BC

With the theme of the 2020 influenza season focused on "infection control", the 2021 season looks forward to harnessing the power of vaccinations and "herd immunity".  This past influenza season saw record numbers of influenza vaccine uptake, how can we harness that momentum and empower our patients to protect themselves against vaccine preventable disease.  BC pharmacists have delivered record numbers of influenza vaccinations (over 1 million), and have participated in COVID-19 vaccinations since April of 2021.  How can pharmacists "leverage" immunization workflow practices from the 2020 influenza season and the COVID-19 vaccine campaign to navigate through the influenza season in relation to other vaccines such as COVID-19 or travel vaccines.
