The BCPhA held its second virtual Town Hall on Wednesday June 10 to hear from our members about their challenges and victories during the COVID-19 outbreak. At least 700 members attended to share their concerns about working on the frontlines, delivering service to vulnerable patients and keeping staff and patients safe.

Many talked about the upcoming flu season and what protections need to be in place. We know from the past, that the demand for flu shots increases after outbreaks like SARS and H1N1. B.C.'s community pharmacists have played -- and will continue to play -- a crucial role in immunizing patients for flu and a wide range of other publicly funded vaccines.

Hosted by Bill Tieleman, government relations consultant and journalist, the hour long telephone town hall connected members to BCPhA current President Keith Shaw and CEO Geraldine Vance with lots of questions and feedback on issues.

During the town hall, the production team socially distanced in the Association's boardroom and donned masks.
