Under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA), Health Canada plays a central role in overseeing compliance and enforcement, working in conjunction with law enforcement agencies and healthcare professionals to uphold the integrity of the controlled substances regulations. Understanding the background and intricacies of the CDSA is essential for pharmacists and other stakeholders involved in the healthcare sector to fulfill their legal obligations and ensure responsible handling of controlled substances.

Join us for a webinar with Angela Lina, Western Team Lead for the Health Canada Community Pharmacy Inspection Program, as she explains Health Canada’s pharmacy inspection processes and explain a pharmacist’s obligations under the CDSA and the associated regulations. It will also provide examples of what is expected and how to comply.

Learning objectives:

By the end of this session, you should be able to:

  • gain an understanding of Health Canada’s Pharmacy Inspection Program and the powers of the inspector
  • be able to apply Health Canada’s regulations and the legislative framework to your pharmacy practice
