Michael Dumont is an Anishinaabe (member, Shawanaga First Nation) family physician, and is honoured to make his home on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples. He serves as Medical Director at Lu'ma Medical Centre, Family Physician at Musqueam Primary Care Clinic, and as Chairperson for the First Nations and Aboriginal Primary Care Network.

He is a past-Vice President for the Indigenous Physicians Association of Canada (IPAC) and sits as Chair for the Working Group on Physician Wellness and Joy in Work.
