Join us for a practical webinar to learn how to identify eligible clients, compare available RSV vaccines, and confidently apply current BCCDC and NACI recommendations for vaccine administration and client counselling. Learning objectives
After attending the webinar, pharmacists will be better able to:
- Identify adults at increased risk of severe RSV disease and those eligible for vaccination based on current NACI and BCCDC recommendations.
- Compare the available RSV vaccines in Canada based on their mechanism, efficacy, safety, and practical considerations.
- Apply BCCDC guidance and product monograph recommendations to manage cold chain and administer RSV vaccines in community pharmacy.
- Counsel clients using current BCCDC recommendations and FAQs on vaccine selection, eligibility, funding, expected adverse effects, and common questions.

About the Speaker: Jane Xia, BSc.Pharm, PharmD, MBA, RPh
Dr. Jane Xia, BSc.Pharm, PharmD, MBA, RPh, Assistant Professor of Teaching, joined the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences in January 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from UBC, a PharmD from the University of Toronto, and a Master of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, with a focus on leadership, strategy, and management. Her professional experience spans community, hospital, regulatory, and industry pharmacy settings. Dr. Xia is a certified Menopause Practitioner through The Menopause Society. Her current interests include patient experiences in chronic disease and the intersection of business and healthcare, particularly in the context of women’s health.
