Getting your flu and COVID-19 vaccines in B.C. pharmacies

This fall, British Columbians can again get their influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations at B.C. community pharmacies. On Sept. 28, 2023, the Province of British Columbia announced plans for vaccinations for the fall respiratory illness season.

British Columbians will receive invitations to book their appointments for a flu shot and/or COVID-19 vaccination based on their eligibility starting in early October. Health-care workers and those in priority groups (65+, clinically extremely vulnerable, etc.) will be eligible for their vaccinations first. COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations in Long-Term Care and Assisted Living facilities will begin before Oct. 10.

More than 1,350 pharmacies will be offering influenza vaccination appointments., and more than 1,200 pharmacies will be offering the COVID-19 vaccinations. Individuals will be able to receive both influenza and COVID-19 vaccines at the same time if they wish.
