Congratulations to this year’s eight pharmacist recipients of the Pharmacy Excellence Awards and two student recipients! From Cumberland to Salmon Arm, these pharmacists represent some of the best of the profession.
This year, the selection process was highly competitive — nearly 40 members were nominated by their friends and colleagues. Many candidates received multiple letters of support from fellow pharmacists, other health providers, patients, and more. Our awards committee reviewed hundreds of documents and in the end, it was a very difficult decision to select just eight pharmacists to receive awards.
Thank you to all our members who took the time to prepare nomination packages. For those who were nominated but not selected, I know it can be frustrating to put in a significant amount of time and effort but not be selected. Rest assured that our awards committee reviewed each and every package, and I would encourage you to reapply during the 2027 award nomination period.
In this special edition of The Tablet, you will find profiles of each of our eight pharmacist and two student award recipients, along with QR codes that will take you to video profiles of each of the pharmacists. I hope you enjoy reading about them, their communities, their patients, and the impact they have that make them among the finest in our profession.
It was a joy to read about our winners. They include a pharmacist who helped lead the way in British Columbia’s harm reduction efforts, a leader who inspires women in pharmacy, a pharmacist who specializes in an underserved area of health care, a pharmacy owner who has brought a personalized touch to his community, and others.
Each recipient demonstrates a deep commitment not only to their patients, but also to advancing the profession and supporting their peers. Their work reminds us that excellence in pharmacy takes many forms — from patient care to leadership, from innovation to collaboration, from community spirit to uplifting those who work alongside us.
Congratulations once again to this year’s award recipients. You should be proud of the impact you are making, and we are proud to celebrate you.
