A record start to the 2025/26 immunization campaign

November 7, 2025 The Tablet

The first two weeks of year’s fall immunization campaign had nearly one million immunizations administered in community pharmacies, surpassing all records from previous years.

Between Oct. 14 and Oct. 26, pharmacy teams administered an astounding 925,000 flu and COVID vaccines, surpassing last year’s record of 767,000 immunizations in the first two weeks of the campaign.

Josie Osborne, British Columbia’s Minister of Health, visited Pure Integrative Pharmacy in Victoria alongside Deputy Provincial Health Officer Dr. Martin Lavoie and MLA Susie Chant to kick off the vaccine campaign.

“Immunizations are one of the simplest and most effective things that we can do to protect ourselves and those around us,” Osborne said. “Getting vaccinated is an act of care and it is an act of community, it keeps you safe and it keeps us as a province strong and resilient.”

Each year, the BC Pharmacy Association also invites provincial representatives to visit community pharmacies as part of our outreach efforts. Invitations have already been sent to provincial MLAs across British Columbia inviting them to visit their local community pharmacy to get vaccinated and to learn about the important work pharmacists do.
